Hooters was founded in 1983 in Clearwater, Florida, by six businessmen with no restaurant experience and an appetite for chicken wings; they were so sure it would fail they incorporated on April Fools' Day. It became a phenomenon instead. There's free parking in the lot. There's a patio, it takes reservations, and the washroom is wheelchair accessible. On Saturday and Sunday, kids ten and under eat free with an adult entrée. The menu runs on wings, plus fries, burgers, sandwiches, and salads. Service is quick and friendly.
